Free To Be (The Leaf’s Song) by Alan Frew: Canada’s Team?
The Post had a front page article today about the new unofficial Toronto Maple Leafs anthem ‘Free To Be’ (the Leaf’s Song) by former Glass Tiger front man Alan Frew. It seems to be ruffling feathers across Canada as it declares the Maple Leafs to be ‘Canada’s Team’. Catchy tune, sure, but I think fans of the rest of Canada’s NHL teams may have something to say about the lyrics. Judge for yourself, below.

its about time someone wrote a new national anthem? hey mike. WAKE-UP. this all propaganda. the sonG it there to manipulate the people of this country to believe in something that doesn’t exist. people that express their thoughts that contrasts the prevailing belief in society is ostracized. is this “free to be me”???? wake up. see what is really going on around you.

hey disgusted wake up yourself and get a sense of humor, that statement was posted tongue in cheek. i have been around long enough to know that we DO NOT live in free country.our system of government IS a dictorship of that there is no doubt in my mind.but you know what it beats the hell out living in russia. so i will send a note to santa asking for a sense of humor for you . thanks for repling

lol wow….this is a free country you morons….becuz you obviously dont know what goes on in the middle east. Hence the reason why there is still wars going on…yeah we live in a somewhat “socialist” country, but definitely not a dictatorship dumbass, if we lived in a state like that, you would probably be in afghanistan fighting..we dont have a mandatory 1 year military service for 18 year olds and that sorta thing…be happy and proud that you are Canadian, I am and I wouldnt wanna be anything else….yeah we pay a shit load of taxes, but its damn nice that if/when Im ever sick, I dont have to pay out my ass up front….just think about it that way….and as for the “new” national anthem, I think its awesome…just like the US has god bless america or america the great…we have free to be…
